Lead by Example

They constantly surprise me.

I found these two pictures of The Girl while going through Mom's photos.

She usually takes pictures of the kids when she's watching them (now do you know where I get it from?).

Look closely and you'll see that The Girl is sitting on a chair from a casino that My Parents obviously frequent.

The Girl has had this baby doll since she was 1 (she got it from a family friend for Christmas ~ during her first real Christmas where she was able to open presents and really enjoy the EVENT. . . and EVENT it is with our mega extended families).

~ I personally am not fond of this doll but SHE loves her.

oh my...my mind is everywhere!

my original reason for posting....

There are many that subscribe a.k.a. are fanatical about different philosophies on child rearing. Some are great in theory but seem lacking in actual execution. I mean seriously, are you supposed to open page 512 of chapter 200 section 4b to see how to talk with your 2 year old who thinks he's 5 when he's 'acting up'? We (the husband and I) have had many, many, many discussions about this. Luckily, we're on the same page.

We believe in practicing what we preach. We want them to be kind to others. So we're kind to them and to others.

When I see pictures like these, I know that we must be doing something right. If you met her, you'd hear her infectious belly filled laugh. You'd see that smile that lights up even the darkest of rooms. You'd hear the joy in her voice when she has a song to sing. You'd feel the love that constantly exudes from her. She's so much like her Daddy (thank goodness). She's kind and loving. She's creative and silly. She's musical and so very talented.

And I'm happy to have her (and them) in my life.
