We just aren't the church going kind. There I've publicly said it. After a lifetime of Catholicism being pushed down my throat and having to have baptized my kids (to get the families off our backs) I just don't see the need or desire to be in a church. I don't feel the need to go through the rituals. It's just not us. It's just not me.
Don't think that we're not spiritual. We are. We just don't believe in an all powerful 'God' to be feared and revered. We believe in a mix of different religions. We believe that we need to be kind to one another. We believe in life. We believe in respect. We believe in each other. I won't go too deeply into this because it would be quite long. And right now, I'd rather be in bed with The Husband. But suffice it to say, we respect others' rights to believe in God we just don't.
After the family thing we headed out to meet close friends of ours for an afternoon of just being. We enjoy being around each other. We watched the kids play. Walked around. Had an early dinner. Walked around some more. It was nice and easy and simple. I love those kinds of get togethers. We live so far apart and our lives have been so busy but luckily we were able to carve in some time to be together!
Little Man and their Little on are 3 months and 1 day apart. It was fun being pregnant 'together.' I'm glad that our kids will be close as well.
Tomorrow we have back to back parties once more.
