to her the world is bright and wide open
to her there is nothing (and i mean nothing) she can't do/handle/experience
to her love is limitless
to her the world is hers to explore
to me, she seems so tiny (still)
to me, she's my first girl, my first baby, my first pitter patter
to me, she outshines the brightest days and glows in the moonlight
to me, she is growing up much too quickly
tonight before she went to bed, she gave me a kiss and said, "i love you."
i gave her a kiss and said,"i love you more." (yes, i'm competitive)
she then replied, "well i love love love you morer than more." (eh, morer in this instance can count as a real word)
i then said, "i love you forever and ever and ever." (can you see where this is leading?)
well after 5 minutes of upping the ante of our love, the very practical father said,"ok it's time for bed."
after one last kiss ("Dora-style" ie, kiss on both cheeks) she bounced into Daddy's arms with one final, "good night" and off they were.
little man, sitting next to me, paused from drinking his milk and said, "i love you too, ate" (he pronounces it "atee")
she was already upstairs and didn't get to hear him.
and he was too tired to play our 'i love you more' game. but i did give him many kisses and i love yous before he drifted off to sleep.
yeah, my kids rock.
and even better, they are tucked warmly in bed as i prepare to eat a brownie lovingly made by a dear friend.
ahh, life is sweet...very, very sweet.
and on those bad days (which are inevitable) please mention this post :)
