it's close to MIDNIGHT and
all 6 kids are up
the boys each with a friend
and our two
between the Wii playing
the barking dogs
the pitter patter of feet
the laughing and giggling
there's a lot of re-connecting
and connecting
we should be asleep
we should but we're not
we're not here often
or as often as the kids and the grandparents would want
but we're here now
for a night, staying up late
is not a big deal
there's a lot of laughing
a lot of helping
negotiating
talking
conversing
it's nice
it's good
it's loud - all gatherings are loud

When I first met the husband, G was 2 1/2 and now he's 13, taller than me (and the husband) and is one of the sweetest kids around - just don't tell his buddies. sweet isn't a term that's cool at school.

He and C are neighbors and have grown up together. They are both equally sweet to The Noisemakers (the have to be, they have Uncle to answer to). They're both in to all things computer related (as you can tell from their intense expressions). They have a good relationship with The Husband and I (and I am very thankful for that.) They know that they can talk to us about anything they need to and that we will listen and not judge. We don't have to like what they have to tell us but we give them the adult perspective without the fear that we'll get mad or that we'd 'ground' them. So far, they haven't done anything bad. We're their sounding boards and it's a good job to have.

Grandpa was so excited to see the two. They were playing for a while.

Playing the Wii on the big screen.
I think we may get them to sleep soon. I did hear something about midnight. They've all been fed, PJ's on and wait....i just heard, "yeah, I'm tired too."
Good thing we have nothing to do tomorrow but just hangout. (and pick up a check from a client---those are always nice)
good morning :) sweet dreams
