PlayDate Fun

Today was a really good day.

The Husband came home with a hot cup of coffe for me. He had gone to Target early in the morning to get the TigerWoods Wii game (the website said they were releasing the game today), but they didn't have it yet. But I did get my coffee.

The Girl had gotten dressed for school and was already playing downstairs. The Boy was ready for his day with Noni (my mom). {She watched him on mondays and tuesdays so I can get work for the book done}.

I made waffles, The Girl packed her lunch and off we (The Dad, The Girl and I) were to school. We hung out a bit and then The Husband and I headed off to Toys R Us to see the the Wii game was there. No luck. He then realized that he should just call around for it.

We planned on having a production meeting to work on the content development of the New Directory (it's still in its infancy...i'll post more when we have more) as well as working on the backend of the site (for the company we're working with)....So, we headed off to Highland Perk. He really liked it there and her reminded me that the feel was similar to the coffee shop we used to study when we were going to school in SB. Their carrot cake is SO yummmy (and pricey but yummy). We decided to stay for lunch. He had the hot wings (yum) and I had a tuna salad sandwich - stacked so high I could only finish half.

Then we were off to get the Boy (and save Mom). We took some pics for his birthday invite (yes, we should have sent them out but we've been busy. The graphic designer husband says that it should all be ready by tomorrow...cross your fingers folks) then we were off for a drive around the reservior to help him sleep.

He slept a bit in the car but on our way back from picking up The Girl, he woke up so we took him with us to The Girl's playdate. Luckily, there's a sister (The Girl's age) and her younger brother (about a 1 1/2 younger) so it all worked out. They were having so much fun and I had a grand time chatting that I didn't realize that 2.5 hours had passed by and that it was time for dinner.

The kids played so well. We have to plan a playdate over here. (we have lots of cleaning to do before we do that. we have this tendancy to get stuff but not throw stuff out, so we're brusting at the seams. But alas, Spring/Summer is around and we have no excuse to do some purging)

On our way to dinner, The Girl fell asleep and is still sleeping. The Boy, after playing with his trains - his first obsession, is fast asleep as well. The Husband is getting some programming work done. He's working on a site and they're going "Live" tomorrow. And I, I am blogging and researching.

Researching on homeschooling. Yes, I'm back on that wavelength, again. The lottery drawing for the public charter that we want to go to is in a couple weeks. There are a ton of people applying but cross your fingers and toes for us! If we don't get in, then we're looking at our local public school around the corner. Another parent at The Girl's school said they had a good science program...perfect for the girl....But I really do like this other charter school. I can't wrap my mind around paying 10K for kindergarten so no to private school. I went to catholic school and it's just not my thing and I don't want to subject her to all that.

So, maybe homeschooling. The parent I was chatting with today said that she and he husband were talking about it too and that he would be willing to do it. I say, sign the girl up, it's on! Well, I'll wait until the end of the month before making any solid decisions.

OR, the Husband wants to move back to his hometown where they have better public schools! We do get tons of babysitting help from his parents and we love to hang out with The Husband's nephews BUT there's so much here. More museums and concerts, art shows and music experiences that we don't get up there. Everything is here and as smoggy as it is, I do like it here. It's where I'm from and where I gerw up. That and there's less family drama down here and if we were to move, we'd be too in the midst of things up there. I like my peaceful life, thank you very much!

So if anyone knows of some great charter school wiht a music and arts program. That doesn't teach for the tests. That has credenitaled teachers. That has a library. That is a good, safe school, let me know.
