back at home

After the Post-Chinese New Year's Party, we dropped the kids off with Mom and Dad and headed out to a opening of one of The Girl's friend's Mother. She and her sister put out an amazing show. They're such talented women. If you're in Silverlake and want to check them out, visit Gallery Revisited! They have some amazing pieces!

Then the hubby and I had a much needed dinner, ALONE. We ate slowly, talked, had sushi (always a hit with us) and we're able to sit still.

When we got back home, Je and Justin were there helping Mom and Dad watch the kids. The Girl was fast asleep in the office and Little Man was playing. After a few games on the Wii, we (M4) headed up to SB. Yes, late at night. We love those night drives....The kids are fast asleep and we can just chat or listen to music.

Once in SB, we (The Husband and I) chatted with Pa for a bit and headed to bed. When I got up the next morning (like at 8 am), the house was fully awake and the kids were laughing and playing. The pot of coffee was full. The kids had been fed. The newspaper was sitting on the dining room table, waiting to be read. Ma was playing with Little Man. The Husband was outside airing out the tent for our camping trip. (yes, you read correctly, we're going on a camping trip---all four of us)

It's a huge tent but it'll work.

I realized at that moment, that I needed to be in SB. I needed those extra sets of hands. I needed the kids to be able to play outside and have the run of the place (because in SB they truly have the run of the joint). Ma's great with the kids. Later in the morning, The Husband and I had a production meeting on The Mesa and she had all the kids plus Miles and she was fine. She delegates responsibility so that the older two (The Girl and Tomi) are "in charge" of Miles and Little Man. She's still there to supervise but she lets them all play together and the younger ones love playing with the older ones and the older ones like having that responsibility.

Hanging out with Grandma early in the Morning. --- Little Man being silly.

"I love Ditto, Mommy!" ----- The Girl hard at work. She's writing number sentences.
1+1 =2 2+1= 3 (She's really into it.)
My mathematician in the making.

When The Girl was drinking her milk, Miles came over and cuddled up with her.

After the meeting we picked up a late lunch for the family and headed back to Ma's. After a bit of play, I took Little Man to the room for a nap (for him and I) and around 4 pm we (The Husband, The Girl and I) took Miles back home. Little Man was still napping -- I love those long naps.

with Jimmy --- Miles in the bouncer. The funny thing is that when Little Man was
born, The Girl did this exact same thing in this same bouncer.

In the car, The Girl was being silly & Miles enjoyed some cousin time!

We hung out with Robert for a bit and chatted. We also got to see Baby Danika for a bit. She was so cute and little...all bundled up in her car seat (Lara took her to lunch with her parents).

Baby Danika - 3 weeks old

After a quick shopping trip to Trader Joe's (The Girl and The Husband are now on a hike with her preschool friends) we headed back to Ma's, made dinner, played on the Wii, packed up and headed back to LA.

We got back home around 10 pm (after a bit of traffic) and it's now a new day.

Yes, it was an action packed weekend but we got SO MUCH DONE, had some alone time and I feel more recharged and less like jumping off a cliff.
