Today i dropped her off. I hung out for a bit and played with the girl and her friends.
Then her teacher told her that mommy was going out for a bit to run some errands.
she said, "ok mommy, i'll see you later." and ran off to continue playing with her friends.
i stood there heart broken and another mom gave me a hug.
the girl came running back, gave me a hug and ran back to her friends.
she didn't have that 'save me mommy' look. ...and i would have if she wanted me to.
but she didn't.
she was fine.
so, i went to get my bag and headed out. she ran over to me, gave me one last hug and was off to the swings. A mom was there to swing her. I heard her laughing and having a good time.
i walked to the car and cried all the way home.
i'll be there by noon for lunch.
my little girl is growing up.
*tear*

Dear Jenn,
I was looking at your blog with Tyler and Jesse and they wanted me to read this outloud to them. I tried my best, but I couldn't get through it. Tears were rolling down my face. You speak so beautifully of how each of us moms have felt on that first day (or week) of school. Thank you for sharing with us.
